New look for your Pender Times comes at a time of great change
Pender has been getting a face lift over the past year or two with large construction projects underway all over the community. After more than eight years of publishing The Pender Times, it seemed like there was no better time than to also give the newspaper a new look with a nod to all that is going on here.
All joking aside, this is actually a very serious column that is inspired by the social unrest that has taken place at various protests, most notably the one involving white supremacists in Charlottesville, Virginia, that led to the death of one counter-protestor and criticism of President Trump for his slowness to focus his condemnation of the events there at those who identified as white nationalists and neo-Nazis.
Holiday weeks are always sort of weird. None weirder, though, than when they fall on a Tuesday.
I think we can all relate. You come out of a weekend, maybe work a day (unless you were lucky enough to take Monday off) and then you’re off another day. And then you work a few more days and another weekend shows up.
