South Sioux City, NE: Frank D. Holmes, 67, of South Sioux City passed away Thursday, July 8, 2010 at a Sioux City Hospital.
Services will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at St. Michael Catholic Church in South Sioux City with Rev. Daniel Wittrock officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael Catholic Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Monday at Becker - Hunt Funeral Home from 4 to 8 P.M. with a Scriptural Wake Service at 7 P.M.
Frank was born August 24, 1942 in Sioux City the son of Frank and Marie B. (Brown) Holmes. He graduated from Heelan High School and served in the U.S. Marines and the U.S. Air Force Reserves. He married Mary Beth Anderson August 29, 1964 in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sioux City. He was employed as a machinist at Sioux Tools for thirty-seven and a half years.
He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in South Sioux City. His hobbies included golfing, bowling, fishing, square and round dancing, playing cards and bingo.
Survivors include his wife Mary Beth of forty-five years of South Sioux City, two sons: Timothy Holmes and his special friend Kim of South Sioux City, Erik Holmes of Atlanta, GA, an adopted son Michael McLeran of Atlanta, GA, two daughters: Michelle Holmes of South Sioux City, Beth and her husband Jimmy Elder of Auburn, GA, two grandchildren: Katie Elder and Lil-J.B. Elder both of Auburn, GA, two sisters: Rose Lepore of Houston, TX, Phyllis Hass of Sioux City, two step-sisters, a step-brother, a brother-in-law George C. Anderson of South Sioux City and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew.
